Cuba visa for Swiss citizens
Swiss travellers can use the Cuba online tourist visa route, whether the trip is organized independently or through an agency. The passport’s multilingual labels are the reference for the English form. Decide who is supplying the visa, review your journey’s connection countries and treat a Swiss-franc bank conversion separately from the service’s displayed dollar price.
Can Swiss citizens apply for a Cuba eVisa?
Yes. Swiss ordinary passport holders are eligible for the Cuba tourist eVisa. Select Switzerland, use the travel passport’s names and number, and check whether your booking already includes the visa.
Check another passport nationalityMultilingual Swiss passport labels in the application
Locate the passport fields corresponding to surname and given names before typing. A document displaying German, French or Italian labels still has the same separation of family name and given names for the English form.
Use the official printed name rather than a translated version or a familiar shortened name. When a passport contains a character that the submission system handles differently, request clarification instead of guessing the correct replacement.
Confirm the visa supplier for a Swiss booking
If an agency or carrier says a visa is included, ask for the delivery process and the issued information. Keep that confirmation separate from an invoice or ticket and check that it refers to the passport you will carry.
For an independently booked journey, verify the passport validity and conditions with the carrier and Cuban authority, including any connecting-country requirements. Swiss nationality does not make one country’s entry permission valid for every stop.
Dual passports and keeping a reliable travel file
If you hold another nationality, decide which passport the Cuba journey will use before applying. Use its nationality and number consistently; do not choose Switzerland while entering the number of a different national passport.
Keep the issued visa email, completed arrival QR and insurance documents available on the travel device. Review the Swiss authorities’ current Cuba advice before departure, and make sure a companion knows how to reach your insurer if needed.
A multilingual Swiss passport: follow the field, not the label language
A Swiss passport can present information with multilingual labels. Identify the surname field and the given-name field on the document, then transfer the corresponding components into the English application. Do not split a name according to the language of an online booking account or combine both fields because the traveller uses one everyday name.
For someone assisting a relative, read the passport number and birth date together before review. The person owning the receiving email or payment card may be different from the traveller; the identity entries must still describe the passport holder. Record the application reference against that person so later messages can be followed accurately.
Compare a Swiss package inclusion with a CHF card charge
Before purchasing an additional service for a package holiday, ask the Swiss operator whether it already provides the Cuban visa and how that provision is delivered. A package price in francs may include several services, whereas the US$59 displayed here is our independent per-traveller application price in dollars. Compare what is supplied, rather than treating differently denominated prices as directly equivalent.
If your card account uses Swiss francs, review the checkout currency and your provider's conversion terms. Keep the service receipt distinct from the issued visa information. A card charge confirms a payment event; it should not be used as evidence that a visa has been issued or that the separate arrival declaration has been completed.
What to prepare for the online application
Use the Swiss passport intended for this journey. The current form asks for the following details:
- Passport nationality and passport number.
- Surnames and given names as printed in the passport.
- Date of birth and sex.
- Email address, entered twice to confirm it.
- Phone number, if you choose to provide one.
No passport scan or portrait upload is requested in the current service form. Insurance, return or onward travel and the arrival declaration are separate travel preparations; they are not upload fields in this application.
Cuba eVisa cost and application steps
Our online application service costs US$59 per traveller. This is our independent service price, not a quoted government consular fee. Read the service terms and refund policy before paying. You can also consult the official government application directly.
- Enter your passport details. The application opens with Switzerland selected. Review names, passport number, birth date and email.
- Review the application and service price. Confirm the information and displayed total before continuing to the payment stage.
- Monitor the application. Keep your reference and use the application status page for an existing request. Allow time before departure; no approval deadline is guaranteed.
- Prepare the separate arrival declaration. After receiving the issued visa code, follow the official D’Viajeros portal instructions and save the arrival QR.
The tourist route is generally for one entry and an initial stay of up to 90 days, subject to the issued visa and current Cuban rules. Work, study and special passport circumstances need their own advice. Cuban authorities decide approval and admission.
