Cuba visa for Italian citizens
For Italian citizens, arranging the visa before departure is a practical part of the booking process. A tour operator may be handling it, while an independent traveller can choose the online route. The key is to have the issued information for the actual passport and to distinguish a leisure itinerary from work or another activity needing a different authorization.
Can Italian citizens apply for a Cuba eVisa?
Yes. Italian ordinary passport holders are eligible for the Cuba tourist eVisa. Obtain the visa before travel and complete the separate Cuban arrival declaration once the visa information is available.
Check another passport nationalityTour operator or independent eVisa application?
Viaggiare Sicuri explains that a tour operator often deals with the entry visa. Ask the operator what has been arranged and when the visa code will be delivered, rather than assuming that a flight purchase alone completes the document steps.
For an independently organized journey, prepare the passport identity details and your contact email. Complete the online form, review the displayed service total and keep the confirmation separate from the airline reservation.
Cognome, nomi and the right travel purpose
Use the passport’s cognome in the surname field and the printed given names in the name field. Do not use a shortened name from a loyalty account or insert a fiscal identifier into the passport-number box.
The Italian guidance makes clear that activities must fit the visa type. A tourist visa is not a work or journalism authorization; contact the Cuban authorities if the trip includes an activity outside the tourist route.
Build the departure file before a combined itinerary
For a trip involving the United States, review both the connection requirements and the consequences of a Cuba visit for ESTA. Do this before booking the US leg, including a technical stop or transit arrangement.
Save the visa email and D’Viajeros document, then add the insurance evidence and onward itinerary. Keep the files on your device as well as in email so boarding does not depend on accessing an inbox at the airport.
A visa supplied by an Italian operator: verify the passenger match
If an Italian tour operator says the visa is included, ask how the issued information will be associated with your passport and delivered before departure. Check the cognome and given names against the passport, and identify whether the operator has used your current document number. A general inclusion statement is useful, but the passenger-specific record is what needs to be correct.
If you later replace the passport, return to the issuer with the changed information before ordering an independent application. Keep the old booking reference and the new passport details available to explain which record changed. Our service cannot infer the status of a visa arranged through another supplier from its invoice.
Italian visitors should distinguish a holiday from professional activity
This guide addresses the ordinary tourist application. A visit involving paid work, study, professional reporting or other special activities should be discussed with the Cuban authorities before the tourist form is used. The fact that the nationality field includes Italy does not decide which permission fits the actual purpose of the visit.
For an ordinary holiday, choose an email that remains accessible during the journey and retain the reference received after submission. If a family member manages the form, compare the passport with that person's entries before continuing. The application should identify the traveller, not the relative who owns the email account or pays the service charge.
What to prepare for the online application
Use the Italian passport intended for this journey. The current form asks for the following details:
- Passport nationality and passport number.
- Surnames and given names as printed in the passport.
- Date of birth and sex.
- Email address, entered twice to confirm it.
- Phone number, if you choose to provide one.
No passport scan or portrait upload is requested in the current service form. Insurance, return or onward travel and the arrival declaration are separate travel preparations; they are not upload fields in this application.
Cuba eVisa cost and application steps
Our online application service costs US$59 per traveller. This is our independent service price, not a quoted government consular fee. Read the service terms and refund policy before paying. You can also consult the official government application directly.
- Enter your passport details. The application opens with Italy selected. Review names, passport number, birth date and email.
- Review the application and service price. Confirm the information and displayed total before continuing to the payment stage.
- Monitor the application. Keep your reference and use the application status page for an existing request. Allow time before departure; no approval deadline is guaranteed.
- Prepare the separate arrival declaration. After receiving the issued visa code, follow the official D’Viajeros portal instructions and save the arrival QR.
The tourist route is generally for one entry and an initial stay of up to 90 days, subject to the issued visa and current Cuban rules. Work, study and special passport circumstances need their own advice. Cuban authorities decide approval and admission.

Can my Italian tour operator already have arranged the Cuba visa?
Yes, that can be part of the operator’s service. Confirm the exact arrangement and delivery of the visa information before buying an additional application.
Is a codice fiscale requested for the Cuba eVisa?
No. Our current form requests the travel passport number and personal details; it has no codice fiscale field.
Does the tourist eVisa cover journalism or employment?
No. Italy’s official Cuba guidance says the visa must match the activity. Ask a Cuban consulate which authorization is needed for journalism, work or another non-tourist purpose.
How much does this Cuba eVisa service cost?
Our online application service costs US$59 per traveller. This is the price of our independent service, not a quoted government consular fee. Check the total and service terms before paying.
What information does the online application ask for?
The form asks for passport nationality, passport number, surnames, given names, date of birth, sex, email and repeat email. Phone is optional. The current form does not ask for a passport scan or portrait upload.
Is D’Viajeros the same as a Cuba eVisa?
No. The eVisa is the visa application; D’Viajeros is Cuba’s separate arrival declaration. After receiving the visa code, use the official D’Viajeros portal to complete the arrival formalities in its permitted time window and save the resulting QR code.
Is approval or a processing deadline guaranteed?
No. Apply before your journey and allow time for review or corrections. Payment does not guarantee approval or admission. The Cuban authorities decide the visa outcome and entry permission.
