Cuba visa for Spanish citizens

Cuba travel preparation for Spanish citizens is different from a journey within the European Union. Your passport, Cuban visa and arrival declaration each have a role. For an itinerary that also includes the United States, plan that country’s entry permission before deciding on the order of your trip.

The quick answer

Can Spanish citizens apply for a Cuba eVisa?

Yes. Spanish ordinary passport holders can apply for the Cuba tourist eVisa. Spain’s official guidance requires a valid passport, visa, arrival QR, medical insurance and a return ticket.

Passport validity for Spanish visitors to Cuba

Spain’s Foreign Ministry states that the passport should have at least six months of validity for entry into Cuba. Check its expiry date against the planned arrival, then confirm any additional carrier conditions.

Use the passport rather than your DNI as the travel-document reference. Keep the first and second surnames in the surname field when the passport prints them there, and enter all given names in the separate name field.

Cuba entry papers and the purpose of the visit

The Spanish travel advice describes the tourist visa as a single-entry route for an initial stay of up to 90 days. Longer stays require the appropriate extension procedure; an extension is not included in our online application service.

For work, study or another purpose outside the tourist route, ask a Cuban consulate for the correct visa. Buying a tourist eVisa because the online form is convenient does not replace the authorization needed for a different activity.

Prepare for check-in from Spain

Keep the return ticket and insurance evidence with the visa information. Complete the official arrival declaration in the allowed window and save its QR as a file you can display at the airport.

Review the Spanish Consulate’s current Cuba advice shortly before departure, especially when travel arrangements change. Choose an email you monitor throughout the journey, not only the email used by an agency to book the flights.

Separate a Spanish passport application from a US connection

For a Spain–Cuba journey routed through the United States, make a separate list of US entry or transit permissions before paying for Cuban visa assistance. The Cuban application accepts Spanish passport nationality, but that selection does not establish eligibility to use ESTA or enter a US airport. Consult the linked Spanish guidance and the relevant US authority for your travel history and route.

An onward journey to the United States after Cuba also needs this review. Keep the Cuban visa record and the US permission record separate. A confirmed airline connection is evidence of a booking, not confirmation that the passenger has every immigration permission required along the route.

Spanish family names and children's applications

Use the surnames and given names in the fields where the passport prints them. For a traveller whose ticket drops a second surname, compare the full passport information with the carrier's requirements instead of shortening the Cuban application to match a display. Include the child's own passport details in a separate request rather than copying the adult's document number.

A parent may manage several requests through one reachable email address, but should keep a distinct reference for each traveller. Review each date of birth individually and enter the same receiving email in both confirmation boxes. Parental consent, where relevant to the journey, is a separate travel document question; it is not an extra upload requested by this form.

Before you start

What to prepare for the online application

Use the Spanish passport intended for this journey. The current form asks for the following details:

  • Passport nationality and passport number.
  • Surnames and given names as printed in the passport.
  • Date of birth and sex.
  • Email address, entered twice to confirm it.
  • Phone number, if you choose to provide one.

No passport scan or portrait upload is requested in the current service form. Insurance, return or onward travel and the arrival declaration are separate travel preparations; they are not upload fields in this application.

Cuba eVisa cost and application steps

Our online application service costs US$59 per traveller. This is our independent service price, not a quoted government consular fee. Read the service terms and refund policy before paying. You can also consult the official government application directly.

  1. Enter your passport details. The application opens with Spain selected. Review names, passport number, birth date and email.
  2. Review the application and service price. Confirm the information and displayed total before continuing to the payment stage.
  3. Monitor the application. Keep your reference and use the application status page for an existing request. Allow time before departure; no approval deadline is guaranteed.
  4. Prepare the separate arrival declaration. After receiving the issued visa code, follow the official D’Viajeros portal instructions and save the arrival QR.

The tourist route is generally for one entry and an initial stay of up to 90 days, subject to the issued visa and current Cuban rules. Work, study and special passport circumstances need their own advice. Cuban authorities decide approval and admission.

Spanish passport questions, answered

Can a Spanish citizen travel to Cuba using only a DNI?

This tourist visa route is based on a passport. Spain’s Cuba guidance lists a valid passport among the required entry documents; a DNI number is not the passport number requested by the form.

Does a Cuba trip affect a Spanish traveller’s ESTA?

Spain’s official advice says visits to Cuba after 12 January 2021 affect ESTA travel to the United States. Check the applicable US visa requirements before booking that part of your itinerary.

Can Spanish citizens use the tourist eVisa for work?

The tourist route is not the appropriate authorization for work. Contact a Cuban consulate about the visa required for your intended activity.

How much does this Cuba eVisa service cost?

Our online application service costs US$59 per traveller. This is the price of our independent service, not a quoted government consular fee. Check the total and service terms before paying.

What information does the online application ask for?

The form asks for passport nationality, passport number, surnames, given names, date of birth, sex, email and repeat email. Phone is optional. The current form does not ask for a passport scan or portrait upload.

Is D’Viajeros the same as a Cuba eVisa?

No. The eVisa is the visa application; D’Viajeros is Cuba’s separate arrival declaration. After receiving the visa code, use the official D’Viajeros portal to complete the arrival formalities in its permitted time window and save the resulting QR code.

Is approval or a processing deadline guaranteed?

No. Apply before your journey and allow time for review or corrections. Payment does not guarantee approval or admission. The Cuban authorities decide the visa outcome and entry permission.
